Roanoke, Va. (WFXR) — As we hit refresh in a post-pandemic world, the job market has received an influx of people seeking a career change for different reasons. Job hunting is hard enough as it is but for the Neurodiverse Community, those with brain differences like ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and more the hunt for the right role has become exponentially more difficult.
Semrush Chief HR Officer, Jeff Bellinger says this could be due to hiring managers implicit bias. Bellinger suggests the problem lies in lack of awareness and accommodation. He encourages people to think about a different definition of a “qualified candidate” and speaks about the misconceptions around neurodiversity and how you can take an approach to ensure neurodiverse candidates receive equal consideration in the hiring process.
