City officials to join TAP in special caroling event, remembrance ceremony this week in downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke City Gun Violence Prevention Commission is teaming up with Total Action for Progress (TAP) for their annual “Bridging the Community Gap” event in downtown Roanoke.

The event begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge at 108 North Jefferson Street, where the Commission and community members will sing carols.

A special remembrance ceremony will also be held at the event.

Hot chocolate will be served. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a canned food item as a collection will also take place at the event.
