Blacksburg, VA – A Virginia Tech sophomore gets a special honor at Saturday’s ACC football championship game in Charlotte.
Hannah Pin is a finalist for the 11th annual 2019 Dr. Pepper tuition giveaway based on a video submission to Dr. Pepper explaining how the tuition money will help her make an impact in the world. During halftime of the ACC Football championship game, Hannah will compete for $100,000 in tuition. She will attempt to throw the most number of footballs into an over-sized Dr. Pepper can in 30 seconds. The winning contestant receives $100,000 in tuition, and the runner-up receives $25,000 in tuition.
“I can’t even imagine. I have never heard of any scholarship that offers this much money because they are usually a $1,000 here and a $1,000 there it doesn’t even put a dent with what I am trying to do. So it is really amazing they are giving away so much,” said Pin.
Hannah wants to be a commercial airline pilot, she says to get schooling in that field would cost her about $80,000.
