Virginia Tech dominates Boston College 40-14 in Blacksburg, improves to 3-1

UPDATE 11:17 p.m. : The 23rd ranked Virginia Tech Hokies improve to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the ACC with a 40-14 win over Boston College. Tech’s defense forced five Boston College turnovers. BC cut the Tech lead to 17-14 in the 3rd.

After that, Virginia Tech went on a 23-0 to end the game. Hokies starting quarterback Hendon Hooker rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for a touchdown. Khalil “Juice” Herbert rushed for 143 yards and a score. He also caught a touchdown pass.

Tech had two players (Hendon Hooker & Khalil Herbert) with at least 100-yards rushing for first time since October 2, 2010 when Darren Evans ran for 160; Tyrod Taylor 121 against N.C. State. The Hokies rushed for more than 300 yards for the 4th straight game with 350 yards. Tech has scored 30+ points in six straight games going back to 2019. This hasn’t happened since 2003.

Next Saturday, Virginia Tech travels to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
