BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — With a week until the start of college basketball season, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team announced its five non-conference opponents, which include several in-state programs. All non-conference contests will take place in Blacksburg.

The Hokies will begin their 2020-21 campaign on Wednesday, November 25 against Richmond with tip-off set for 4 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum, serving as the second game of a doubleheader.

Then Virginia Tech hosts Liberty on November 28 for a 2 p.m. tip-off, marking the third straight season that the two Commonwealth schools have met. Aisha Sheppard scored 20 points in the narrow 73-69 win over the Flames last year.

December starts with three games in six days for the Hokies, starting with George Washington (12/1 at 5 p.m.), followed by Appalachian State (12/4 at 5 p.m.) and Gardner-Webb (12/6 at 2 p.m.).

The Hokies will then begin their previously announced 20-game ACC schedule, beginning with Pitt on December 10.
