LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Dance is a universal language that can be used to tell stories and share ideas.

Here in America, dancing helped enslaved Africans connect with the homeland by keeping their cultural traditions alive.

WFXR News’ Hazelmarie Anderson joined the Kuumba Dance Ensemble in Lynchburg to learn about African dance during Black History Month.
