VDH reports 972 new COVID-19 cases and 1,968 total deaths as of Monday

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia health officials reported a total of 71,642 COVID-19 cases and 1,968 virus-related deaths as of Monday morning, including 972 new confirmed and probable diagnoses and two new confirmed and probable fatalities around the Commonwealth.

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) confirmed 68,814 cases and 1,861 deaths are related to the virus as of Monday, July 13. However, 2,828 cases and 107 deaths are still reported as “probable.”

According to VDH’s Monday update, more than 3,700 COVID-19 cases are from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:

  • Alleghany County: 52 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Amherst County: 40 cases and 3 hospitalizations
  • Appomattox County: 48 cases and 2 hospitalizations
  • Bath County: 1 case
  • Bedford County: 167 cases, 2 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Bland County: 3 cases
  • Botetourt County: 156 cases, 12 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Buena Vista: 23 cases and 2 hospitalization
  • Campbell County: 66 cases, 3 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Carroll County: 251 cases, 21 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
  • Charlotte County: 38 cases and 5 hospitalizations
  • Covington: 5 cases
  • Craig County: 9 cases
  • Danville: 138 cases, 23 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Floyd County: 24 cases, 2 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Franklin County: 106 cases, 7 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Galax: 289 cases, 30 hospitalizations, and 16 deaths
  • Giles County: 18 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Grayson County: 92 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Halifax County: 87 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Henry County: 350 cases, 31 hospitalizations, and 5 deaths
  • Highland County: 3 cases
  • Lexington: 19 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Lynchburg: 194 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Martinsville: 112 cases, 15 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Montgomery County: 197 cases, 12 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
  • Nelson County: 25 cases
  • Patrick County: 48 cases, 4 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Pittsylvania County: 173 cases, 23 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Pulaski County: 53 cases, 7 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Radford: 17 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Roanoke City: 588 cases, 15 hospitalizations, and 10 deaths
  • Roanoke County: 328 cases, 11 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
  • Rockbridge County: 35 cases
  • Salem: 96 cases, 3 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
  • Wythe County: 59 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 1 death

Health officials say they have received 6,765 records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations across Virginia as of Monday.
