VDH: 851 new COVID-19 cases in Virginia, 1,962 total deaths as of Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 851 new COVID-19 cases and 4 new virus-related deaths in Saturday morning’s update, bringing the Commonwealth’s total coronavirus count up to 69,782 confirmed and probable diagnoses and 1,962 confirmed and probable fatalities.

Virginia health officials confirmed 66,963 cases and 1,857 deaths are related to the virus as of Saturday, July 11. However, 2,819 cases and 105 deaths are still reported as “probable.”

According to VDH’s Saturday report, more than 3,700 COVID-19 cases are from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:

  • Alleghany County: 40 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Amherst County: 40 cases and 3 hospitalizations
  • Appomattox County: 47 cases and 2 hospitalizations
  • Bath County: 1 case
  • Bedford County: 156 cases, 2 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Bland County: 3 cases
  • Botetourt County: 152 cases, 12 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Buena Vista: 18 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Campbell County: 63 cases, 3 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Carroll County: 245 cases, 21 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
  • Charlotte County: 36 cases and 5 hospitalizations
  • Covington: 5 cases
  • Craig County: 9 cases
  • Danville: 113 cases, 20 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Floyd County: 20 cases, 2 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Franklin County: 106 cases, 7 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Galax: 287 cases, 30 hospitalizations, and 16 deaths
  • Giles County: 18 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Grayson County: 91 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Halifax County: 80 cases, 5 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Henry County: 350 cases, 31 hospitalizations, and 5 deaths
  • Highland County: 3 cases
  • Lexington: 16 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Lynchburg: 187 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Martinsville: 112 cases, 15 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Montgomery County: 182 cases, 12 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
  • Nelson County: 25 cases
  • Patrick County: 48 cases, 4 hospitalizations, and 1 death
  • Pittsylvania County: 159 cases, 23 hospitalizations, and 2 death
  • Pulaski County: 51 cases, 7 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths
  • Radford: 16 cases and 1 hospitalization
  • Roanoke City: 557 cases, 14 hospitalizations, and 10 deaths
  • Roanoke County: 311 cases, 11 hospitalizations, and 6 deaths
  • Rockbridge County: 34 cases
  • Salem: 87 cases, 3 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths
  • Wythe County: 57 cases, 6 hospitalizations, and 1 death

The department has reportedly received 6,707 records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations across Virginia as of Saturday.
