Roanoke Parks & Recreation offers Summer PLAY Enrichment Program

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Kids, get ready for a summer program from the City of Roanoke that’s catered just for you!

The Summer PLAY Enrichment Program is for children who have completed Kindergarten through fifth grade that will provide activities in art, sports, fitness and wellness, outdoor recreation and environmental education.

As coronavirus concerns continue, safety measures will be made to keep all program leaders and participants healthy.

The program will be hosted from six different recreation centers throughout Roanoke.

Each center will have eight participants with two instructors, except Eureka and Garden City, which will have two groups of eight.

Participants will be required to wear masks that will be provided by Parks and Recreation, when social distancing cannot take place.

Proper cleaning measures will also be handled throughout the day.

Registration for the camp begins on Monday, June 15 and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. either online or by phone at (540) 853-2236.
