Department of Elections encourages absentee voting in June primary

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – With the June Primary quickly approaching on June 23, the Virginia Department of Elections is encouraging voters to utilize absentee voting to help protect themselves from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Voters have the option of selecting reason 2A for absentee voting.

For those who wish to vote absentee by mail, you should visit the Department of Elections website and fill out the form as soon as possible.

In-person absentee voting can be done at your local registrar’s office.

In Lynchburg, the office is located at 825 Kemper Street, Suite A at Kemper Street Station.

Voters can visit the site from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until June 19.

The Lynchburg Registrar’s Office will also be open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 20.

The deadline to apply for a mailed absentee ballot is Tuesday, June 16.
