ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — WFXR’s Furry Friends gives local shelters a chance to highlight adoptable pets looking for their forever homes.

On Tuesday, Sep. 26, Anita Scott from the Franklin County Humane Society introduced Umbro. He’s an 8-month-old mix and weighs 38 lbs. Scott says Umbro is super sweet and a little shy. He tested well with cats but is a little scared of them.
Anyone interested in adopting Umbro should fill out an application on the shelter’s website.
The Franklin County Humane Society Planned Pethood Clinic and Adoption Center is currently open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, with the dog area closing at 2 p.m. However, if your adoption application is approved, other times can be arranged.
