On Tuesday, Dec. 6th, Anita Finkle and Mary Lou Lewis with Roanoke’s Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection (RCACP) brought seven-year-old Opie to the WFXR News studio.

Don’t be fooled by Opie’s stature, although his smile and sweet head tilt will give him away. He’s a sweet, slobbery, and lovable dog with lots of licks to give to anyone willing to take them.

Anita says Opie did well marching in the Vinton parade this holiday season and rides well in the car. She believes he will do well with any family: both kids and adults.

Now through Dec. 11th, the Bissell Pet Foundation is sponsoring all pet adoptions. That means you can adopt Opie for free!

If you are interested in adopting Opie or any of the other adoptable animals at the RCACP, you can fill out an application by clicking here.
