ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — WFXR’s Furry Friends gives local shelters a chance to highlight adoptable pets looking for their forever homes.

On Tuesday, May 23rd, Kari Grisetti from the Franklin County Humane Society introduced Ruby. She’s an 11-month-old hound mix and weighs 49 lbs. Ruby was at a neighboring shelter that was running out of space so FCHS welcomed her with open arms.

Grisetti says Ruby meets new people with a happy and friendly demeanor. However, she is a little guarded with dogs at the shelter but is playful and good with dogs. Griseti recommends a walk to help Ruby relax before a full-on play session.

Anyone interested in adopting Ruby should fill out an application on the shelter’s website.
