FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Animal shelters across southwest and central Virginia are full of adoptable pets, which is why WFXR News is highlighting those pets during our Furry Friends segment.

On Tuesday, October 18th, Stephanie Wright with the Franklin County Animal Shelter brought Joshua — a 1-year-old American Bulldog/Boxer mix — onto “Good Day Virginia” to help him find a forever family.

According to the shelter, Joshua gets along with everyone. He’s gentle, sweet, and very calm.

The Franklin County Animal Shelter says adoptions usually cost $40 for dogs, $20 for cats, $125 for puppies, and $50 for kittens, which includes the fees for vaccination, deworming, and spaying/neutering.

However, the shelter is currently offering “Name Your Price Adoptions” because it is filled with so many dogs seeking loving homes.
