FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Animal shelters across southwest and central Virginia are full of adoptable pets, which is why WFXR News is highlighting those pets during our Furry Friends segment.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16, Stephanie Wright with the Franklin County Animal Shelter brought a 2-year-old beagle mix, Sally, to the WFXR News station to help her find a forever family.

According to Wright, Sally is sweet, loving, and great with everyone!

In fact, just hours after her appearance on “Good Day Virginia,” the Franklin County Animal Shelter announced that Sally found her forever home!

However, the shelter says it still has so many adoptable cats and dogs, so community members are encouraged to stop by the Rocky Mount facility to pick up a new furry friend.

The shelter — located at 81 State Street — is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, but is open from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, from noon to 4 p.m. on Fridays, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
