ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Each week WFXR News highlights adoptable pets filling up animal shelters across Southwest and Central Virginia.

This week, Tuesday, Nov. 14, Julie Rickmond with the Roanoke Valley SPCA brought Balto to Furry Friends!
Balto is a one-year-old male American Pitbull Terrier. He weighs 53 lbs, is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. According to his bio, Balto says “I may look like I’m all muscle, but my heart is probably my biggest muscle of all! I’m a very sweet boy if I do say so myself, and I’m just looking for someone I can love. Is that you? I am very food-motivated and learn new commands quickly.”
The Roanoke Valley SPCA offers adoptions by appointment Monday – Saturday between Noon and 7 pm. Appointments can be made by calling 540-339-9247. Walk-ins will be offered at the next available appointment. Pets are adopted on a first come basis. You can also submit an application to adopt this precious pooch by clicking here.
