WFXR Sports Sitdown : Crunch Publisher Carl York talks about losing his father to COVID-19

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — WFXR Sports Director Jermaine Ferrell caught up with Crunch Publisher Carl York in the latest edition of the WFXR Sports Sitdown. Carl has been covering local high school football since 1995 with “Crunch” Jermaine and Carl each week during the high school football season has a segment call Crunch Time where they talk about all things high school football. Sad news hit Carl’s family last July as his father C.P. York died in Ohio due to COVID-19 at the age of 87. C.P. contracted the virus on July 12 and died a week later in July 19. Carl said his mother, brother, and sister also got COVID-19 but survived. During Jermaine’s interview Carl shares how he started Crunch in 1995. Carl also talks about the future of high school athletics in the era of COVID-19.
