VIRGINIA (WFXR) — If you are looking to take a fishing trip with family and friends, fishing piers across Virginia are inviting you to its Free Fishing Days weekend from June 2nd to June 4th.
The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is celebrating free fishing events to teach visitors how to fish and to get the fishing experience. Agency staff and volunteers will be on site with rods, reels, terminal tackle, and bait to guide you through the fishing process.
No matter if you are ready to reel in trout, stripers, or flounder, DWR shared a list of locations hosting free events throughout the Commonwealth on Saturday, June 3rd:
- Northern Virginia: Burke Lake Park – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m at 7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039
- Central Virginia: Dorey Park – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 2999 Darbytown Rd, Henrico, VA 23231
- Eastern Virginia: Mt. Trashmore Park – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at 310 Edwin Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
- Southwest Virginia: Hungry Mother State Park – 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at 2854 Park Blvd, Marion, VA 24354
