When should I prune my Roses?

Prune Roses in the Spring when new growth starts.

Cut out any dead wood, crossing branches, etc. Always remove old leaves from around the base of the plants.

Roses get a lot of diseases, so leaving the leaves at the base of the plant causes the spores from these diseases to flash back up onto the plant when it rains.

Good Housekeeping goes a long way here.
