Roanoke’s Restaurant Week 2021 is bringing some great specials that you don’t want to miss

Roanoke, Va. (WFXR) — It’s that time of the year! Downtown Roanoke INC’s Restaurant Week kicks off today! The annual tradition will look a little different this year. In the year’s past restaurant week has consisted of set menu prices, but this year restaurants are structuring their own restaurant week menus. Additionally, all participating restaurants are offering their restaurant week specials to-go and many are still offering dine-in specials as well.

I’m taking you on a quick food tour with three restaurants, Crumbles, Cabo Fish Taco, and 202 Social House.

Crumbles serves up a variety of biscuits and what they have dubbed, the “best cinnamon roll in town.” The restaurant was opened up merely nine months ago by Ruben Liendo. Liendo’s family has been in the restaurant business here in Roanoke for over twenty years. This week Crumbles is giving customers a complimentary cinnamon roll with the purchase of coffee mug. The cinnamon rolls are made from scratch every morning, the dough hand-stretched and rolled, the sugarcane glaze perfectly dispersed roll-to-roll, and homemade cream cheese melts into the oven-fresh pastry and is finished off with a pinch of cinnamon. You’ll wan to buy twenty coffee mugs as these tasty cinnamon rolls will have your mouth watering.

“What makes the difference is what you put into it. If you don’t do it with love, if you don’t have passion for anything in life, it doesn’t come out as it should, so I definitely think that is what makes the difference in the quality of ingredients we use and I think that’s part of it, that’s a big part of it.”

A few blocks over, Roanokers and visitors alike can escape the cold for coastal Mexican inspired cuisine. Cabo Fish Taco is bringing back some customer favorites at a discounted price!

“We’ve got a Cajun Oyster Taco special that’s flower dredge, homemade flour dredge, and then, we have our homemade remoulade going on top of that, also we have our Cabo Roll appetizer which is an old favorite that used to be on the menu.”

Jimmy Trent, General Manager and Head Chef, Cabo Fish Taco

The customer favorite appetizer is available for only $9.99… but, the deals don’t stop there. Local hot spot, 202 Social House is crafting some serious cocktails at their Curiosity lounge for those dining in and offering choices with three courses for $20.00.

“We’ve got a lot of great options on our restaurant week menu this year, our flatbreads that everyone loves, chicken wings that we’re known for, another option is the Hokie Burger sandwich, it’s a little bit newer on the menu but it has been such a hit. When it comes to desserts, you get the choice of our house-made chocolate peanut butter pie or house-made cheesecake.”

Emily Ford, General Manager 202 Social House

Dishes like this are certainly hard to resist, but most importantly, our local restaurants have endured a tough season and that is enough of a reason to participate in Roanoke Restaurant week 2021.
