RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) — It’s been a month since the Highlander Hotel Radford hosted its grand opening, but now the hotel is raising the roof with its new restaurant.
From lump crab cakes to hot chicken sandwiches, Bee & Butter’s rooftop restaurant and bar gives guests a taste of regional cuisine with seasonal ingredients. The menu is full of drink options, including cocktails, wine, and beer. Its dessert menu features a ‘Warm applied pie’ and ‘Strawberry Rhubarb flip cake.’
Working the kitchen, its chef’s team will be led by Executive Chef James Kirby and Sous Chef Amy Murray.
“At Bee and Butter, we’ll be using seasonal, local ingredients to bring guests a taste of the Blue Ridge with a twist. We’re working with as many food producers in the area as we can to bring an elevated dining experience to locals and visitors alike in a beautiful but relaxed atmosphere,” said Kirby.
Kirby has experience in a variety of fine and casual dining restaurants including three Michelin-star restaurants, The Inn at Washington. During his five-year tenure, he worked his way to sous chef and has since helped train the next generation of chefs as a culinary instructor.
Joining him along the journey with impressive culinary experience is Chef Murray. Before joining the team at Highland Hotel Radford, Murray worked at numerous restaurants in the U.S. where she worked alongside celebrity chef Tom Colicchio.
“I love using special ingredients and fun techniques to offer an exceptional dining experience and this rooftop dining experience lets me do all of that while still being a bit whimsical in our delivery,” said Murray.
The restaurant is now accepting reservations through Open Table and the Highland Hotel Radford website.
