(WFXR) — The only thing you should be on the hunt for this Easter is eggs. Whether you are looking to celebrate with family or friends, we hunted down a list of events happening across the region.
DALEVILLE
Eggstra Fun Event — Go on down to the Daleville Town Center & Performance Pavilion on Saturday, April 8th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Easter activities. Families can meet the Easter Bunny, and later have a dance party with the Easter Bunny’s girlfriend! Face painting, a ninja zone obstacle course, and planting sunflowers are some more of the fun you can experience. The Botetourt Farmers Market will also be on-site hosting a specialty Spring market before the season officially begins.
DANVILLE
‘Easterific’ Event — The Danville Police Department is hosting an ‘Easterific’ event on Friday, April 7th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Danville PD is also asking for donations to create Easter baskets for children in need. Donations will be accepted through April 6th.
FLOYD
‘Buffalo Eggstravaganza’ — Floyd County’s Parks and Recreation department invites families to a spring event on Saturday, April 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Floyd Rec Park. Families can enjoy games, crafts, vendors, an easter egg hunt, and more.
HALIFAX
Easter Egg Hunt — The Halifax County Sherriff’s Office hosts it’s 8th annual law enforcement/community Easter egg hunt on Thursday, April 6th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Halifax County Fairgrounds. Officers will be grilling a hotdog supper for those who come hungry.
ROANOKE
Eggcellent Adventure — On Saturday, April 8th, the Virginia Museum of Transportation will host its 4th annual Eggcellent Adventure from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will offer photos with the Easter Bunny, crafts and games, and a chance to explore the museum. You can also expect train rides by the Roanoke Chapter of the NRHS. Admission ranges from $9 to $14 depending on the guest’s age. Tickets can be purchased here.
Great Easter Basket Fill-Up — The Life Church of Roanoke will host their annual egg hunt on Saturday, April 8th at 10:00 a.m. Eggs will be scattered across three fields, giving families plenty of room to search. Families should register beforehand here.
‘Eggsploration’ — Visit the Explore Park on Saturday, April 8th, for an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt with a twist. A golden egg that contains a special prize will be hidden during the egg hunt. Admission is $5 for active participants. Families can register beforehand here. A sensory-friendly option will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Drive-Thru Egg Hunt — The Emmanuel Wesleyan Church is providing families with their own egg hunt supplies at a drive-thru event on Saturday, April 8th. Families wanting to conduct an egg hunt in the comfort of their own homes can drive by between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to pick up all the goodies they’ll need.
Grown-Up Egg Hunt — Lick Run Farm is hosting a ‘Spring Social’ and adult Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 8th starting at noon. Admission for adults is $10. Tickets can be purchased here.
