ROANOKE, Va (WFXR) — If you want to get away, how about a trip to Greece? No need to grab your passport; head to Roanoke for the annual Roanoke Greek Festival.

The festival offers people the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Greece.
WFXR’s Hazelmarie Anderson spoke with Pete Simopoulos, the Chairman of the Roanoke Greek Festival who shared a sneak peek at some authentic Greecan dishes, and the excitement surrounding the festival.

The 2023 Roanoke Greek Festival runs from Friday, September 15, through Sunday, September 17th, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Admission is free. A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Local Office on Aging and the Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Centers.
