ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department reports that a man has been injured in a shooting that occurred on Sunday, Nov. 19.

According to the police department, officers were on routine patrol around 11:05 p.m. near 18th St. and Grayson Ave. NW when they allegedly heard gunshots nearby. Information was then received by the Roanoke E-911 dispatch that someone had been shot on the 1300 block of Lafayette Blvd. NW.

On the scene, responding officers found a man with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds on the front porch of a home. The victim was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital by Roanoke Fire-EMS for treatment.

The initial investigation indicates the shooting took place in the backyard of the residence. Officers allegedly found damage consistent with a shooting to the home, as well as to a vehicle in the backyard.

RPD says the investigation is still ongoing. There are currently no suspects and no arrests have been made.
