ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A former deputy with the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office has pled guilty to delivering narcotics to prisoners.
Earlier this year, the sheriff’s office announced that former Deputy Jonathan Hildalgo was suspended in January 2023 when potential misconduct was discovered at the Roanoke Detention Center.
Just two months later, a grand jury indicted Hildalgo on the following charges:

- Delivery of narcotics to prisoner
- Two counts of Bribery in a correctional facility
As we previously reported, Hildalgo joined the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office in July of 2019. However, after warrants were served in March, he was fired.
