MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — A former Henry County deputy has been found not guilty after he was accused of assaulting and strangling a woman in 2021.
As we previously reported, on June 6, 2021, Rayshaun O’Shea Gravely Jr., from Martinsville, allegedly assaulted a woman while at a birthday party. The victim accused Gravely of allegedly grabbing and twisting her arm, pushing her through the parking lot where he allegedly proceeded to choke her.
On April 19, 2021, Gravely turned himself in and was charged with Strangulation, Abduction, Assault and Battery of a family member, and Malicious Wounding.
According to the Martinsville Commonwealth Attorney Andrew Hall, on Oct. 10 Rayshaun O’Shea Gravely Jr. was found not guilty on all charges.
