Sinkhole causes lane closure on Piney Forest Road in Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Drivers traveling north on Piney Forest Road can expect delays due to a sinkhole in Danville.

The Danville Police Department says on Oct. 28, around 5:23 p.m., officers responded to reports of a sinkhole in the 700 block of Piney Forest Road, near the intersection of Deer Run Road.

As a result, all northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane as city departments assess the sinkhole and plan repairs.

Danville police said the lane closure will remain in place until further notice.
