FINSCASTLE, Va. (WFXR)—The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder after an incident on the 500 block of Cabin Hallow Road. Wednesday, Nov. 15.
According to the sheriff’s office, Botetourt County 911 received a call for a shooting near Cabin Hallow Road around 9:45 p.m. As deputies were en route to the scene, the victim called from a store claiming he was allegedly shot by his roommate. The deputies found the victim suffering from several gunshot wounds.
The victim was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital by the Botetourt County Fire Department and EMS.
Deputies then went to Cabin Hallow Road where they encountered the suspect who was taken into custody.
57-year-old Bruce Reese was charged with:
- Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
- Malicious Wounding
- Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle
- Reckless Handling of a Firearm
Investigators believe the two roommates were arguing over rent at the time of the shooting.
Reese is currently being held at the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail without bond.
