BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Multiple units are currently on the scene of a large brush fire in the Thaxton area of Bedford County.
The Bedford Fire Department says several units have responded including Montvale, Stewartsville, Moneta, and the Department of Forestry, and are working to contain the blaze.
According to the Virginia Department of Forestry map, the fire is near Quarterwood Road and is about five acres.
At this time, firefighters encouraging residents to not burn anything for the next few days, due to dry conditions.
