BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford Police Department has determined that loud noises that were heard on 460, near Walmart, were the result of a car backfiring on Nov. 16.

On Wednesday just after 5 p.m., the Bedford police responded to the area in reference to what was thought to be gunshots fired at a school bus. However, when officers arrived at the scene, they learned that no shots had been fired in the area, instead a car had backfired.

Police said the incident involved a Bedford County School Bus.

Bedford police confirmed, the bus driver was the only person on the bus and they were not injured.
