
Ryan Moye joined the WFXR News team in March of 2019 as the Blacksburg Bureau Sports and Weekend News Multimedia Journalist. Previously, Ryan spent 4 years reporting in Tyler, Texas. There he was a Sports Multi-Skilled storyteller and Anchor. He produced a Player of the Week segment, and covered high school football through out East Texas. Ryan, was also sideline reporter for “Under The Lights” Friday football show. He’s also conducted interviews with East Texas athletes such as Patrick Mahomes II, Trent Williams, Dez Bryant, Adrian Peterson, and the legendary Earl Campbell.
While in Texas, Ryan was privileged to cover the Astros in World Series as well as Super Bowl LI in Houston. He also followed the Stephen F. Austin men and women’s basketball teams in the Southland Conference, as well as the men’s NCAA March Madness appearances. Before being in sports, Ryan was a News Multimedia Journalist and Photographer. In news Ryan covered everything from enterprising stories to severe weather.
Ryan, received his Master of Arts degree in Journalism from DePaul University, and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Susquehanna University. While in Chicago, he worked as a Digital Journalist for the historic African-American newspaper the Chicago Defender. During his stay in the windy city, he was a National Association of Black Journalists Chicago Chapter award recipient. Born and raised in Washington, D.C.
