Ford Carson, WFXR Roanoke

Ford Carson is a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor with WFXR News. He was born and raised in Roanoke, graduating from Patrick Henry High School and Roanoke Valley Governor’s School in 2014. He attended Washington and Lee University as a Johnson Scholar, where he was active in campus radio, television, and varsity sports commentary.

In college, he spent summers in Washington, D.C. at C-SPAN, where he became the first intern to voice a promo aired on television, and at RealClearPolitics, where he became the first intern to serve as an official White House press pool reporter. Highlights at RealClear include covering President Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement from the Press chairs in the Rose Garden, and interviewing over a dozen U.S. Senators in the hallways of the Capitol.

Ford especially enjoys politics and features. You can otherwise find him playing golf, listening to 70’s music, and/or spending time with his beagle, Cece.
