ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Star Quilters Guild has announced its Stars Over the Blue Ridge Quilt Show and Sale for March.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 24th, and Saturday, March 25th at the Berglund Exhibit Hall. Admission for the show is $10, which includes special exhibits and demonstrations from local artisans. Quilts and other products will be sold at additional costs.
The Star Quilters Guild has been creating and connecting with the community since 1981. Every year quilters create and donate over 450 comfort quilts to area agencies and veteran’s groups to provide warmth to members of the community. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, members made small quilts, each with a 40-inch perimeter to represent each year of the guild’s history.
This year, over 225 quilts will be displayed and judged at the show. Quilters across the region can also win titles in the following categories:
- applique
- art
- fashion/home décor
- miniature
- modern
- special techniques
- traditional pieced
- youth
