LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Academy Center of the Arts announces exciting events for art enthusiasts coming up in May.
The auction will be live starting Friday May 5th at 5:00 p.m. at the Patricia Harrington Gallery Building and will remain open online throughout the month of May. The gallery will showcase original work from local and regional artists.
Half of the proceeds from the auction will directly benefit the artist, while the other half will support the Academy Center of the Arts community programming.
On Friday, May 26th, the public is then invited to ‘The Blank Canvas Block Party’ which will highlight the vibrancy and creativity of the community. Main Street between 5th and 7th streets will be closed to traffic, but open to fun with music from DJ KILL GXXD, food trucks, raffles, and more activities. Attendees are asked to wear all-white attire to draw focus to the lively colors of the displayed art.
