UPDATE 10:00 p.m. FLOYD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — CEO of Across the Way Productions, which hosts the five-day festival, says the decision was not made lightly.

“We did not have time to get the final permit, and get all the dirt moved that we need to move to make the site perfect for patrons to be welcomed there in July,” said Calhoun.

He says he even understands the economic impact this will have on the Floyd community.
He insists he isn’t leaving the community out to dry.

“We are going to be back. we are going to survive, we are going to do everything by the book at the Festival Park. we care very deeply about the environment, we want to be good stewards of the land that we have. we did that for 20 years at our previous site, and we are going to do that again moving forward,” said Calhoun.

He adds everyone who is rolling over their tickets for next year’s Floydfest will be entered in a drawing for two free upgrades a month, starting in November.

“So that can be merch that can be ticket upgrades we are going to be taking care of people as we did in the pandemic,” said Calhoun.

He wants to thank all for the outpouring of support they have received throughout this difficult process.

FLOYD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — After a review and considering multiple alternative options, organizers have announced that the 2023 FloydFest has been canceled.

However, FloydFest leaders say they are planning for FloydFest 2024 and are offering two options for ticketholders.

  1. Ticketholders have the option to keep their tickets and roll them over to Forever for FloydFest 2024.
  2. Ticketholders can also request a refund. All refunds will begin processing in the order received around April 12.

Those who have 2023 FloydFest tickets will need to fill out this form and choose their options by May 5th. Failure to do so will result in an automatic rollover of your ticket to the 2024 FloydFest.

We hope to see each of you, our FloydFest Family, in July 2024, as we christen your new home, FestivalPark. The outpouring of love, understanding and support we received last week following our initial announcement was extraordinary, and we will never forget it. We love our #FloydFestFamily so very much,”
