AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — On Nov. 3, the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office reports an arrest has been made in the homicide of Phyliss L. Auman that occurred on Boxwood Farm Road on July 14, 2023.
According to the sheriff, on Friday, following the results of lab results and the autopsy report released by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke, Kenneth Wayne Barbour has been charged with Aggravated Murder.
On Friday, July 14, the Amherst County Communications Center received a call regarding an elderly woman, later identified as Phyliss L. Auman, unconscious and badly injured at a residence on Boxwood Farm Road. Law enforcement arrived on the scene and found Phyliss deceased with multiple injuries.
Barbour was previously charged with Malicious Wounding and being held at the Amherst County Adult Detention Center without bond in relation to this case.
