Kids teach others about agriculture at Bedford Co. Fair

Ag Life

A big part of the Bedford County Fair is educating the public about agriculture, and some of the youngest teachers are taking on that responsibility.

Kids and teens participate in showing animals for prizes. Many of them take care of the animals and say they enjoy teaching others about the different livestock.

Young female farmers tell us they can do just as well as the guys.

“You would thing people wouldn’t take you as seriously, but when you really show them what you can do and how you can do just as well as the boys can, they’ll take you seriously and they’ll be really taken aback by it,” said Olivia Croft, who raises cows.

You can stop by the fair to see all the animals Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

While you’re there, don’t forget to stop by the WFXR News tent to say hello. WFXR is a proud media sponsor of the Bedford County Fair.
