Amherst County Public Schools
Eligible students with an active SNAP EBT card or who were previously issued a P-EBT card for any prior issuance of P-EBT were issued the Summer 2023 P-EBT benefit on July 22. If you are eligible and did not receive the P-EBT benefit, please contact the P-EBT Call Center at 866-513-1414 or 804-294-1633 Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Appomattox County Public Schools
If you’re new, you will need to download two apps! Go to your app store & search for Appomattox County PS and download/install that app. Also, download/install PowerSchool Mobile as well. The district code is TQHS, use your PowerSchool credentials to log in. Once the school year starts, this will give you a live view of your child(s) classroom for attendance, assignments, and grades.
Bedford County Public Schools
2023-2024 new student registration must be completed by August 14th.
Campbell County Public Schools

Lynchburg City Schools
LCS has been working with education consultant MGT of America to develop the Facilities Master Plan which includes rezoning for Close-to-Home, improving elementary buildings, expanding Pre-K options, expanding CTE, and removing portable classrooms.
Nelson County Public Schools
The first day of school for all students is Monday, August 14th. NCPS Open Houses will take place on Thursday, August 10th. If you have any questions, please call your student’s school for more information.

Bland County Public Schools
‘Meet the Teacher Day’ is on August 15th and the first day of classes will be on August 17th. If you’re the parent of a new student, you can find out about immunization requirements, here.

Open House/Orientation
All MCPS schools will host an open house on August 14, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Please check with your school to see if the open house will begin earlier than 4:00 pm.
Pulaski County Public Schools
August 7th – 9th is Senior Pictures at Dobson Stadium 5414 Cougar Trail Rd.
Grades 7th, 8th, 10th – 12th Open house on August 8th. Elementary School Open House is August 9th.
The first day of School is August 10th
Radford City Schools
If your child will be riding the bus, please fill out the Student Transportation Registration form. If you are interested in having your child(ren) participate in the Early Riser’s Program, please make sure you have completed the Early Riser’s Program Application. School Nutrition Information – All RCPS students (McHarg, Belle Heth, Dalton, and RHS) will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost for the 2023-2024 school year.
Roanoke Valley
Botetourt County Public Schools
The free immunization clinic for Kindergarten, 7th, and 12th-grade students is Thursday, July 27. These clinics are completely free for families. In instances where an insurance company does not cover the cost of immunization, families will not be billed.
Buena Vista City Schools
Your child’s immunizations and updated copy of the immunization record need to be administered and provided before the first day on August 16th. Please visit the school’s website to view the chart with the required immunizations for their grade level.
Franklin County Public Schools
PowerSchool Enrollment Online Registration is now open.

Lexington City Schools
Tuition Payments for the 2023-2024 school year are due on August 3rd and January 4th. For additional tuition information, please call the tuition coordinator at the Lexington City School Board Office at 540-463-7146 or visit the registration page of their website.
Roanoke City Public Schools
Summer Health Clinics are being held until the end of July. The School Board has approved recommended start and dismissal times for the 2023-24 school year, allowing bus transportation to be more consistent and reliable. Back to School Extravaganza – August 19 – More info coming soon!
Roanoke County Public Schools
Parents are asked to complete the annual verification by August 4th. You can now log into your ParentVUE account to complete the Annual Verification of your student’s information. If you do not have a ParentVUE account or need assistance logging into your ParentVUE account, please contact your child’s school.
Rockbridge County Public Schools
The first day of school starts on August 15th. All student breakfasts and lunches are free again this year under the Community Eligibility Program (CEP). No money is required to get a student meal.
Salem City Schools
Student registration will open on August 1st and will close on August 18th for the 2023-2024 school year. The day of classes is August 21st. New students must present a physical exam within 12 months before their first day of entering school.
